International Scholarships to Study in the US





It is true that the US is one of the most costly nations for higher education. But don't let that put you off, as there are many scholarships to gain funding for your studies.


As an international student you are not eligible for funding specifically for US nationals. However, as US universities prioritize internationalization, the international scholarships to study in the US.

Below is US scholarships for international students, some scholarships offers by the US government, some scholarships offers by private organizations and some scholarships offer by specific institutions.

US scholarships for international students by Government-funded 

Fulbright Foreign Student Program – The most popular of government US scholarships for international students, This offers scholarships for international graduate students, in the United State for one year or more  young professionals and artists to study. Open for international students in all fields including medicine.
Hubert Humphrey Fellowship Program –   It is the non-degree scholarship for international students experienced professionals wishing to undertake 10 months of academic study in the US. However the scholarships doesn’t support degree qualifications, students are able to study at academic institutions across the nation  and develop their knowledge.

US scholarships for international students by Non-governmental 

Abbey Road Summer Scholarships – US scholarships cost US$1,000 for art and  language students, as well as US$500 scholarships for ‘summer enrichment’ at institutions within the states.
The Next Gen Scholarship Fund – The Scholarships to study in the US for international students and non-residents. Applicants at least have a 3.0 GPA (grade point average) and be enrolled on a program at university within Washington DC, Virginia or Maryland. Worth of scholarships is US$1,000.


Tortuga Backpacks Study Abroad Scholarship – Awarded twice anual to international students to study in the US.Scholarships Worth is US$1,000.

David P. Shapiro Annual Leukaemia Scholarships – Two scholarships in a year, Scholarships worth is US$1,000 each, open to prospective students in the US with leukaemia.

East-West Center Scholarships–  To study in the US in selected institutions, aimed at international students from the Asia region.
